Joy Black Bio
| Joy Black, RN, is licensed as an RN in the State of Ohio, with Ohio Department of Health certification and licensure for adult foster group care, and has been the owner and operator of state-licensed adult healthcare facilities in Ohio since 1985. With over 25 years of professional administrative managerial and clinical experience, Joy is adept at developing care plans, managing licensure requirements, and engendering community collaboration and support. She is fluent in Spanish and spent the early years of her career serving the United States Peace Corps in Chile. |

After returning home, she worked in staff and managerial positions in a variety of hospital and home healthcare settings before founding her first business. In the mid 1980s, she simultaneously embarked on a career as a consultant in the area of home healthcare and as the owner and operator of Joy's Place in Chardon, Ohio. Today, Joy's Place, under Joy's guidance, continues to provide assisted living care in a home setting to the elderly and other adults challenged by the demands of daily living. Her more recent involvement, as CEO of Emerald Fields of Troy, allows Joy to use her full range of talents to: Joy is an active participant in the Area Association on Aging, a member of the Speakers Bureau for the Northeastern Ohio Returned Volunteer Association (NORVA), a charter member of Chesterland Rotary International, a member of the Farmers Bureau, a graduate of the Leadership Geauga County Class 1997, and a co-founder and board member of the Adult Care Facilities Association (ACFA). |
