Our Mission
To provide a stable continuum of care for adults with chronic emotional impairment through an exitutional living environment that fosters self-actualization through productive, appropriate community interactions, and structured therapeutic interventions.
Program
Emerald Rose is a corporation (not-for-profit status in process) engaged in advocacy, fund-raising, and education to help adults with chronic emotional impairment find the means to live as normal a life as possible with the support of exitutional therapeutic living environments, such as Emerald Fields of Troy, in Troy Township, Ohio.
A Caregiving Continuum
For persons with chronically debilitating, but not-acute, emotional impairment, balancing the desire for personal autonomy and independence with the abiding need for stability and the intermittent need for supportive intervention is a perpetual challenge. The Emerald Fields of Troy is a community-based residential home designed to full those needs for persons:
Aged 18 or older- Safe to themselves and others
- Mobile*
- Medication compliant
- Willing to participate in structured programming
- Competent, or, if incompetent, under legal guardianship — with a durable power of attorney in place
A formal and individualized program of activity and involvement is developed for each resident, under the direction of an interdisciplinary team that includes:
- The resident's own healthcare professionals
- The resident's family / loved ones
- Medical director
- Psychiatrist
- Social Worker
- Registered Nurse
- Trained daily care providers
- Therapists, as appropriate, in art, horticulture, small-animal care, physical therapies, occupational therapies, music, athletics, crafts, carpentry, etc.
- Community-based educators and mentors
*One handicapped room and bath are currently available.
exitutional: pertaining to a caregiving establishment with an open-door policy that encourages and nurtures independence and self-sufficiency, to each person's highest potential, with a goal of wellness and a return to a normal way of life.
